Check in and complete intake

Arrive about 10 minutes early for your first visit. Intake covers your symptoms, health history, sleep, digestion, medications, and the goals you want this course of care to support.

  • Bring your insurance card if you want us to review acupuncture benefits before your visit
  • Bring a list of current medications, supplements, labs, or imaging relevant to your concern
  • A light meal beforehand is better than arriving on an empty stomach

Consultation with Dr. Wang

The first visit starts with conversation, not a rushed protocol. Dr. Wang reviews your intake, asks follow-up questions, and looks at the broader pattern behind the symptom that brought you in.

  • Pulse and tongue diagnosis may be part of the evaluation
  • The goal is individualized treatment planning rather than a one-size-fits-all protocol
  • Questions about timing, fertility cycles, pain history, sleep, digestion, or medications are all normal on day one

Treatment and aftercare

Your first session usually includes acupuncture and may include other supportive therapies when appropriate. Most patients describe the needles as light, subtle, or barely noticeable rather than painful.

  • First visits usually take about 75 to 90 minutes total
  • Acupuncture may be paired with cupping, moxibustion, gua sha, or herbal guidance depending on your case
  • Mild heaviness, tingling, or a deep relaxed feeling can happen during treatment
  • Most patients leave calmer and with a clearer next-step plan

Follow-up, scheduling, and questions

Before you leave, Dr. Wang explains what was done, what to watch for over the next few days, and what cadence of follow-up care makes sense for your condition.

  • Follow-up visits are usually shorter than the first visit
  • Questions before or after booking can go through the clinic by text or phone
  • If herbal medicine is part of your plan, you will get clear instructions for timing and use
  • If you are unsure where to start, text first and the clinic can guide you
