Insurance and coverage

Verify your acupuncture benefits before your visit.

Many PPO plans and specialty networks may include acupuncture benefits. Send your plan details before booking, and the clinic can help clarify your benefits, expected patient responsibility, and the clearest next step.

Accepted coverage types

PPO plans, reimbursement support, and pre-tax cards.

Coverage varies by carrier, employer, network, and individual plan. The fastest path is to submit the details from your card so the clinic can verify your specific benefits.

  • PPO acupuncture benefits
  • Out-of-network PPO plans
  • Superbill support
  • HSA cards
  • FSA cards
  • Plan-specific benefit checks

How reimbursement works

In network and out of network are not the same.

Your plan may cover acupuncture in different ways depending on the provider network, diagnosis, visit limit, deductible, and authorization rules.

In network

Usually the lower-cost path.

When the clinic and the treating acupuncturist are in the correct network for your plan, your copay or coinsurance is usually lower and claims are generally easier to process. Some benefits are managed through a specialty network such as ASH or Landmark.

Out of network

Possible with some PPO plans.

Some PPO plans reimburse part of an out-of-network visit after the deductible, but your share may be higher. Other plans exclude out-of-network acupuncture, apply visit limits, or require you to submit a claim yourself.

Before booking, ask your member services team whether your plan covers acupuncture with a California-licensed acupuncturist, whether a specific network is required, and whether a referral or prior authorization is needed. Benefit verification is not a guarantee of payment.

Helpful to know

Bring your insurance card, and let us check before care begins.

Before booking

Verification keeps the first visit clearer.

We can review the information on your card and let you know what your plan appears to cover before you commit to a visit.

At check-in

Bring the card and ID you use for care.

Have your insurance card, photo ID, and any referral or authorization information ready if your plan requires it.

HSA and FSA

Pre-tax cards may be used for eligible care.

HSA and FSA cards can usually be used for eligible acupuncture-related expenses. Keep receipts for your own records.

Plan limits

Final coverage depends on the insurer.

Verification is helpful, but benefits can still depend on claim processing, medical necessity rules, deductibles, and plan updates.

Insurance verification

Send your insurance details.

We will review your information and follow up with the next step. For faster scheduling questions, call (818) 918-3238.
